A Fort Alexander man and woman are facing drug related charges after being arrested by police earlier this week.
On August 29, 2012, at about 9:30pm, Powerview RCMP conducted a vehicle stop of a 2003 Ford Windstar on Highway 11 in the RM of Alexander. The vehicle stop was part of an ongoing investigation.
Subsequent investigation lead to the seizure of approximately half a pound of marijuana. Police say that the estimated street value of the marijuana seized is about $3,800.
RCMP report that the two occupants of the vehicle, a 36-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both from Fort Alexander, were arrested and are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both have been released from police custody and are scheduled to Appear in Pine Falls Provincial Court on October 24, 2012.
