On September 1, 2012, shortly after 2am, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance outside the Thompson Inn on Churchill Drive in the City of Thompson.
RCMP Officers arrived on scene and found a 26-year-old Thompson man suffering from burn injuries. The victim was transported the Thompson General Hospital where he was treated and released.
Officers determined that an altercation occurred involving a group of males. The victim was sprayed with a flammable substance and a match was thrown at him, causing the victims clothes to catch fire. A friend of the victim intervened and was able to extinguish the flames.
The following descriptions were provided of the suspects:
Suspect 1: Male individual, aboriginal in appearance, wearing a grey hooded sweater and blue jeans. Average height with an average build.
Suspect 2: Male individual, aboriginal in appearance, wearing a white shirt. He was chubby with a small amount of facial hair.
Suspect 3: Male individual, aboriginal in appearance, wearing a brown hooded sweater. He was wearing glasses and had scruffy facial hair. This male was described as being very skinny and having big teeth.
Suspect 4: Male individual, aboriginal in appearance, wearing a blue shirt. He had a shaved head with an odd shaped nose.
