On September 23, 2012, just before 1pm, Stonewall RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a minivan and a motorcycle on Road 10E, near the junction of Road 74N in the RM of Rockwood.
Early indications are that the van was traveling south on Road 10E when the driver pulled into a driveway to do a U-turn. At that time, the motorcycle, which was also traveling south, collided with the van.
RCMP report that the male rider, identified as a 41-year-old of the RM of Armstrong, along with his 43-year-old wife, a passenger on the motorcycle, were both taken to Stonewall hospital and transferred to Winnipeg.
Police say that at the time of the collision, the male rider was taken to a Winnipeg Hospital in critical condition. RCMP have now advised that the 41-year-old man succumbed to his injuries. His wife as since been released from hospital.
The male driver of the minivan, a 64-year-old from Stony Mountain, did not require medical attention.
The investigation continues.
