Community Mental Health Partners and the Steinbach Arts Council are proud to present the exhibit opening of “Expressions: Exploring Recovery Through Art”
Expressions is a free community event held annually in conjunction with Mental Illness Awareness Week. Its purpose is to showcase and celebrate the outstanding ability of people who use art in the journey of recovery from a mental health problem and to promote better understanding of mental illness in our region.
This is the 9th annual Expressions and the second year it is in partnership with the Steinbach Arts Council. The artists who are from the Eastman region, express themselves through a variety of media including water colour, acrylic and oil paints, photography, textiles and collage.
You are invited to attend the Exhibit opening on October 5, 2012 at 7pm at the Hall Gallery in the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre. There will be a collection of Word Art collages as well as featured artists who write and perform both music and poetry. Refreshments will be served and a Toonie donation would be greatly appreciated. Donations on October 5 will go to the Expressions Event Fund.
The Exhibit runs from October 5 to November 9, for more information, call 204-371-0824.
