MP for Provencher, Vic Toews, comments on the fire situation in the towns of Vita and Ross, Manitoba.

I was saddened to hear of the damage caused by a fire in the towns of Vita and Ross. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected and I encourage all residents to listen to local authorities and take the necessary precautions to stay safe.

I am confident that local law enforcement and provincial emergency first responders will handle this situation with the professionalism and dedication that we’ve come to know and respect.

As always, the federal government stands ready to provide assistance if needed.
