On October 3, 2012, at about 12pm, Peguis and Fisher Branch RCMP Detachments as well as the local Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a bomb threat at the Peguis Central School.
Police say that a threatening message was found in the schools washroom, it was handed to the school administration who in turn called the RCMP. The entire school, which includes several hundred children, were evacuated from the premise due to the threat.
RCMP report that the school was searched and nothing suspicious was found.
Investigation showed the threat was bogus and lead to the arrest of a 16-year-old Peguis male who is a student of the school. He has since been released on a promise to appear with an undertaking with conditions to appear in Peguis court on December 18, 2012, to face a charge of uttering threats.
