A Dauphin man is facing impaired driving charges after being arrested by police earlier this week.
On October 8, 2012, at about 3:15pm, Winnipegosis RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 20, 15 kilometres north of Winnipegosis in the RM of Mossey River.
RCMP, local Fire and EMS arrived on scene and located a newer model Chevrolet Malibu in the ditch, partially submerged in water.
RCMP determined that there were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Early indications are that the driver failed to negotiate a curve and landed in the ditch.
Police say that all three occupants were transported to Dauphin Hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The driver, identified as a 21-year-old male from Dauphin, was subsequently arrested and has since been released on a promise to appear. He will make a court appearance in Dauphin court on November 27, 2012, on impaired driving related charges.
The RCMP’s Criminal Crash Investigation Team and an RCMP Traffic Collision Reconstructionist assisted in the ongoing investigation. Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision.
