The Steinbach Arts Council is pleased to open this season’s concert series with jazz musicians “The Mike Janzen Trio” on Friday, October 26, 2012, at the SRSS Theatre in Steinbach.
The Mike Janzen Trio is comprised of Canadian luminary George Koller on bass and the outstanding Ben Riley on drums. Festival MC Larry Green (All-Canadian Jazz Festival/Port Hope) says, “If you’re looking to book a wonderful jazz trio to spice up your festival, please consider Mike Janzen. His music (vocal and instrumental) has delighted many audiences…a great choice!”

Over the past 17 years, Mike has focused on jazz. Mike is a riveting performer. Josh Grossman (Artistic Director/Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival) calls him “the best kind of unpredictable,” delivering “great grooves, a funky, gospelly undercurrent, and great fun.” Juno award winner Steve Bell says, “His is a rare and infectious gift.”
Mike lives in Toronto, where his a regular on the Toronto jazz scene.
