On October 18, 2012, at approximately 7:10pm, RCMP from the Blue Hills area as well as Emergency Services from Brandon, were dispatched to a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 10 and Road 45N, 16 km’s south of Brandon.

RCMP report that a northbound British Columbia registered 2002 GMC Jimmy, driven by the lone occupant, a 27-year-old BC man, crossed over the centre line and collided with a southbound 2007 Honda Odyssey, driven by a 76-year-old man. The Odyssey also contained a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old female passenger. All of the Occupants of the Honda van are from rural south western Manitoba.

Police say that both vehicles sustained significant damages in the crash. All individuals involved in the crash, were transported to Brandon General Hospital for further treatments.

The Driver of the GMC Jimmy suffered significant injuries and was transported to a Winnipeg hospital for further treatments. Two of the occupants of the Honda van remain in Brandon Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The 42-year-old male passenger was treated and released.

Blue Hills area RCMP with the assistance of the Criminal Code Investigative team and a Forensic collision analyst, continue with this investigation. Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this crash.
