On November 20, 2012, at approximately 11:50am, RCMP from Brandon and Carberry, as well as emergency services from Carberry, were dispatched to the scene of a Canadian Pacific uncontrolled railway crossing situated just south of the Trans Canada Highway on Road 93W.
Investigation has determined that a John Deer tractor, operated by a 44-year-old RM of North Cypress farmer, was struck by an eastbound Canadian Pacific train.
Police say that the tractor operator was taken to hospital by ambulance for further assessment and treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
RCMP report that there were no other individuals injured in this incident.
RCMP continue to investigate the collision, with the assistance of Canadian Pacific rail officials and an RCMP collision reconstructionist.
