RCMP are investigating a man, posing as a water meter reader, who recently gained access to a local residence in Dauphin.
On October 30, 2012, the Dauphin Municipal RCMP received a report of a man posing as a water meter reader for the City of Dauphin. The man had been granted access to a home on 4th Avenue N.E. and left prior to police being made aware of the incident. The Utility Supervisor for the City of Dauphin advised they did not have employees in the area on that day.
Residents are reminded to ask for ID before letting anyone into their home unless they are confident the person is a representative of the business or organization they claim to be representing. Anyone with information on this or a similar incident, is asked to call the Dauphin Detachment at 204-622-5020.
