Four individuals are facing numerous drug related charges after being arrested by police this past week in Cross Lake, Manitoba.
On December 1, 2012, at about 6:30pm, Cross Lake RCMP, with the assistance of the North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in Cross Lake.
During the search, police located approximately 380 grams of marijuana, as well as 400 rolled marijuana cigarettes and a quantity of cash.
Two residents, 24-year-old Julius Wade North and 31-year-old Allysia McIvor, were arrested and have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both are scheduled to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on December 10, 2012.
A 26-year-old male was also arrested and will be charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. He has been released on a promise to appear in Cross Lake court on January 15, 2013.
On December 2, 2012, just before 8pm, Cross Lake RCMP, with the assistance of the North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, executed a second CDSA search warrant at a residence in Cross Lake.
During the search of the residence, police located 34 marijuana plants in various stages of growth.
Two residents, 29-year-old Wesley Burton Ross and 34-year-old Georgette Blossom Ross were arrested and have been charged with production of a controlled substance. Both are scheduled to appear in Cross Lake Provincial Court on January 15, 2013.
The total estimated value of the drugs seized for both seizures is pegged at close to $47,000.
