On April 12, 2009 at 12:15 a.m., RCMP Selkirk Detachment were dispatched to the 200 Block of Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk following a report of a man shot at.

The victim, a 39-year-old Selkirk man, was walking on Manitoba Avenue when he was shot at with a firearm. He was transported to Hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition. His injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.

RCMP Selkirk Detachment continues to investigate assisted by the RCMP Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section and the RCMP Selkirk General Investigation Section.
