On December 21, 2012, shortly after midnight, Blue Hills RCMP with fire and paramedic services were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle collision, 8 miles south of Brandon on Highway 10, in the RM of Oakland.

Police arrived and determined that a white pick-up truck had collided with a hydro pole on the west side of the highway after departing the highway traveling south. The lone occupant of the pick-up, a 19-year-old Killarney man was taken to the Brandon Hospital and treated for minor injuries. He was later released.

After being release from hospital, the man was arrested by police and processed for impaired driving.

RCMP report that alcohol consumption is a factor in this collision. The driver is now facing charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
