A former student of the RD Parker Collegiate is facing charges after threatening both the school and the City Centre Mall in the city of Thompson.
On December 11, 2012, Thompson RCMP were advised by the RD Parker Collegiate that it had come to their attention that an 18-year-old former student had recently made threats to commit violent acts both against the Collegiate and the City Centre Mall in Thompson. The acts were allegedly to occur on December 20, 2012.
An investigation was launched which resulted in an 18-year-old former male student of Thompson being charged with two counts of uttering threats and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.
A warrant for the former student’s arrest was obtained after repeated attempts to locate him failed. RCMP learned that he had recently moved out of his residence. Police say that on December 18 he was located and arrested in the City of Winnipeg where he remains in custody.
