On January 23, 2013, just before 6am, Steinbach RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to a fatal incident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on the Trans-Canada Highway, about 5 km east of Richer, Manitoba.
RCMP report that the eastbound lanes have been closed at that location to facilitate the investigation. A detour is expected to be in place shortly, however, motorists should expect delays. The highway is expected to remain closed for the next several hours.
