MP Vic Toews has announced support for the Grunthal Centennial Park under the Harper Government’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF). The statement made by the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety and Member of Parliament for Provencher, was made on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
“I am proud to see the Rural Municipality Hanover benefit from the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund,” said Minister Toews. “This investment will help create jobs, growth and will support the prosperity of Grunthal for years to come.”
The Harper Government’s investment of $26,800 will enhance the services provided by the Rural Municipality of Hanover at the Grunthal Centennial Park. Under the project, the ball diamonds at the Park will be upgraded by resurfacing, replacing backstops, repairing fencing, and building dugouts.
“The Rural Municipality of Hanover is thankful to receive this funding under the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund to enhance our baseball diamond facilities at Grunthal Centennial Park,” said Stan Toews, Reeve, Rural Municipality of Hanover. “The partnership between the Government of Canada, the Rural Municipality of Hanover and the Grunthal Community Centre will allow the Town of Grunthal to continue to provide quality recreation to residents at this very important time of community growth and development.”
