MP Vic Toews has announced support for the St. Malo Arena under the Harper Government’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF). The statement made by the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety and Member of Parliament for Provencher, was made on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
“I am proud to see St. Malo benefit from our Government’s support for local infrastructure,” said Minister Toews. “This investment will help create jobs and growth while ensuring the continued availability of an important local asset for years to come.”
The Harper Government’s investment of $30,000 is enhancing the services provided by the St. Malo Arena. The upgrades to the arena include the replacement of the rink boards, doors and glass. These upgrades have made the arena a safer community facility for all to enjoy.
“We are extremely delighted and thankful to receive funding from WD under the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund,” said Justin Maynard, President of the Club Sportif Iberville. “This investment has allowed us to continue our efforts towards improving our arena, and having a safe and fun rink for the entire community.”
