Three people are facing both drug and firearms related charges after being arrested by police last month in Carman.
On January 24, 2013, Carman Area RCMP executed two CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrants for residences in the Town of Carman.
RCMP report that at one home, investigators seized 19 grams of cocaine, Clonazepam pills, approximately $2,500 in cash and one firearm. As a result of this search, 46-year-old Louis Joseph Vaillant of Carman, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in both cocaine and marijuana, as well as unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000. Vaillant was remanded in custody.
Investigators searched a second residence and seized an quantity of cocaine. Police arrested a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman at the location. Both are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance. They have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court on March 26, 2013.
