A Winnipeg Police Service member is facing sexual assault charges connected to an incident that occurred in the RM of Rockwood in 2006.
On August 28, 2012, RCMP Winnipeg Major Crime Unit was notified by the Winnipeg Child Protection Branch that a male youth had disclosed information regarding a historical sexual assault. The offence was said to have occurred in the RM of Rockwood in 2006 when the boy was 10-years-old and involved inappropriate sexual touching.
The investigation into the allegations resulted in the arrest of a 52-year-old man from the RM of Rockwood on December 6, 2012. He was subsequently released on a promise to appear with an undertaking containing conditions to have no contact with the complainant.
On February 7, 2013, after formal consultation with Manitoba Prosecution Service, Kenneth Jack Anderson was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.
RCMP report that Anderson is a member of the Winnipeg Police Service and is scheduled to appear in Teulon Provincial Court.
