On February 9, 2013, Steinbach RCMP were called to Giesbrecht Street in Steinbach to a report of an assault.
Police were advised by a 28-year-old woman that her 35-year-old common law partner struck her in the face after an argument over alcohol.
RCMP report that the woman was not injured and fled to a nearby neighbour where she contacted police. Police then located the 35-year-old man at his residence. He was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for assault.
The accused was later released on a promise to appear to attend Steinbach Court.
