Snowmobile trail system patrolled in the Thompson area.
On February 17, 2013, the Thompson RCMP Detachment and Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship joined efforts to patrol the snowmobile trail system in the Thompson area, an initiative supported by the Thompson Trailbreakers snowmobile club.
Many snowmobilers participated in two Thompson Trailbreakers events over the weekend which consisted of the 1st Annual Manitoba Provincial Snowmobile Rally and the Sweethearts Poker Derby.
While snowmobilers were out enjoying themselves at these events, officers focused on education. They kept watch to ensure those riding on the trails were compliant with laws and regulations and that riders were in possession of a valid Snopass.
Police say that no one was charged at this event and that participants had a great time while the RCMP ensured rider safety.
