On March 12, 2013, at about 4:30pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP were dispatched to a head-on collision involving a semi-trailer and an SUV, one kilometre north of St. Malo on Highway 59.

Early investigation show that a southbound SUV, for reasons that remain under investigation, crossed the centrer line and collided head-on with a northbound semi-trailer hauling dirt.

RCMP report that the adult female driver, and sole occupant of the SUV, was extricated and air lifted to a Winnipeg Hospital. Her condition is undetermined. The male driver of the semi-trailer was not injured.

RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist. Alcohol and road conditions are not considered contributing factors.
