A Wellwood man is facing numerous drug related charges after police discovered a sophisticated grow-op at a local residence.

Grow-op discovered by police at a Wellwood, Manitoba, residence.

On March 19, 2013, around 3pm, Carberry RCMP officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in Wellwood, Manitoba.

During the search of the residence, police discovered a small, but, sophisticated grow operation with 53 marijuana plants in various stages of growth production, approximately 735 grams of marijuana leaves (shake used for making oil), approximately 111 grams of raw marijuana bud, 3 grams of marijuana oil, a small quantity of cocaine and an extensive quantity of marijuana trafficking and production paraphernalia. Police estimate the value of the drug seizure around $56,000 in addition to the production equipment seized.

RCMP report that a 35-year-old Wellwood man is to appear in Brandon Court on May 9th, 2013 and is facing charges of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. All charges are contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
