Myles Nykoluk of the Steinbach Pistons has been named the RBC Player of the Month for March.
The 20-year-old forward from Winnipeg recorded 17 points (6-11) in 12 games. He played a key role for the Pistons in their two playoff series victories and appearance in the league final.
The runners up are 20-year-old forward Guillaume Naud of the Dauphin Kings and 20-year-old forward Richard Olson of the Steinbach Pistons.
Sherwood Hockey Defenseman of the Month
Steinbach Piston Kyle Rous was outstanding on the blueline. In addition to his ability to shut down key offensive players, the Winnipeg native also led all defensemen in scoring with nine points (3-6) in 12 games played.
The runners up are 19-year-old Tanner Butler of the Dauphin Kings and 20-year-old Nathan Bruyere of the OCN Blizzard.
MGEU Goaltender of the Month
To use the popular adage: goaltenders can make all the difference in the playoffs. Look no further than Corey Koop of the Steinbach Pistons. The 20-year-old recorded two shutouts enroute to posting a 7-5 playoff record. His GAA was 2.43, with a .921 save percentage.
The runners up are 20-year-old Jeremy Pominville of the Dauphin Kings and 20-year-old Justin McDonald of the OCN Blizzard.
IBAM Rookie of the Month
Hats off to Tanner Lomsnes of the Dauphin Kings. The 18-year-old forward from Red Deer led all rookies in scoring with 6 points (2-4) in 10 games.
The runners up are 18-year-old forward Brendan Hopkins of the Steinbach Pistons and 18-year-old forward Liam Bilton of the Winnipeg Blues.
