The aircraft was reported to have taken off from Island Lake and had only been in the air for a few minutes before crashing in white-out conditions.
RCMP rerpot that the pilot, a 26-year-old man from Red Deer, Alberta, was transported to the Garden Hill Nursing Station for treatment of minor injuries. There were no passengers on board the aircraft at the time of the crash.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and police continue to investigate.
