On April 6, 2013, at about 7am, Portage la Prairie RCMP, with the assistance of the D Division Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Long Plain First Nation.
Police say that an adult female and male were arrested without incident. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a quantity of ammunition, edged weapons, bear spray and pellet guns.
RCMP report that 33-year-old Timothy Sterling Peters of Long Plain First Nation was arrested and has been charged with 14 firearms and weapons related offences. Peters remains in custody. A 28-year-old woman arrested at the location is facing charges of obstruction and possession of ammunition without a licence. She has been released from custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court.
