A Steinbach area man is facing numerous charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, after being arrested by police yesterday.
On April 6, 2013, 20-year-old Kyle Barker fled from the Steinbach RCMP and was later apprehended in a back lane near Friesen Avenue with the assistance of an off-duty corrections officer.
Barker has now been charged with several offences including possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking (Fentanyl), railing to comply with an undertaking, three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance, resisting arrest and obstruction of a police officer.
Barker has been remanded into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
