“Songs For The Soul” Event To Raise Funds For Global Family Foundation
Acclaimed harpist and choral conductor Paul Dueck is playing a fundraising concert on Sunday, April 21 at the Steinbach Mennonite Church in support of Global Family Foundation.
The concert called “Songs For The Soul” will start at 7:00 p.m., and feature Paraguayan harp, hymn sing-alongs and Psalms in song. There will be a freewill offering to help marginalized children in Paraguay and South America attend school through Global Family Foundation.
Paul Dueck is well known across Canada, USA, Europe and South America for his skilled playing of the Celtic and Paraguayan harp, as well as his singing and choral conducting.
The son of missionary parents, Paul grew up in Paraguay, where he mastered the harp at age 12. He went on to study music in Canada and Europe.
In 2009, Paul led the music team at the Mennonite World Conference attended by more than 6,000 participants. In 2010, he released his original composition of the Psalms. Many of the Psalm lyrics contrast longing and suffering with hope and joy – and Paul’s composition is meant to inspire encouragement and hope to all.
Global Family Foundation is a Christian organization dedicated to helping children affected by extreme poverty in Latin America have access to a quality education, empowering them to take charge of their own future and change their communities from within.
