Four people are facing numerous drug related charges after being arrested by Portage la Prairie RCMP earlier this month.
On April 12, 2013, Portage la Prairie RCMP, with assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service, executed two CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrants in the City of Portage la Prairie.
The first search was in the 500 block of Midland Street in Portage la Prairie. During the search, police located a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and bear spray. 39-year-old Kristopher Brent Miller was arrested and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Miller has been released from custody and will be scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial court at a later date.
The second warrant was executed in the 100 block of 8th St. NW in Portage la Prairie. During the search, police located a quantity of marijuana and cash. 64-year-old Clinton Patrick McIvor, 20-year-old Clayton James McIvir and 58-year-old Shirley Irene McIvor have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. All have been released from custody and will be scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial court at a later date.
