Two Portage la Prairie residents are facing numerous drug related charges after being arrested by police this past week.
On the evening of April 18, 2013, Central Plains RCMP executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 18th Street North West in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Police say that approximately 2 pounds of marijuana, over 30 marijuana plants, as well as marijuana production equipment, were located and seized from the residence.
RCMP report that a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Portage la Prairie, were arrested and are facing charges of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on June 3, 2013.
