On May 15, 2013, at about 7:50pm, Killarney area RCMP along with Fire and EMS responded to a collision involving a semi and an SUV. The location of the collision was in the RM of Morton, two miles north of the Dunseith Port of Entry on Highway 10.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the driver of the SUV, identified as a 51-year-old RM of East St. Paul woman, deceased. She was the sole occupant of the SUV. The driver of the semi, a 61-year-old Deloraine resident, was treated with non-life threatening injuries.
Early indications are that the SUV was travelling south on Highway 10 when the driver attempted to pass a semi and collided head-on with a northbound semi-tractor trailer.
An RCMP Traffic Analyst attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. Alcohol is not considered a factor in this collision.
