The Parkland Area RCMP are investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred on Provincial Road 582, approximately 5 kilometres south of the Village of Ochre River on the evening of April 22, 2009.
The driver and lone occupant of the car was killed in the collision. Investigators have determined that a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by a 23 year old Dauphin woman, was traveling southbound when it left the road and plunged into the Ochre River. The collision was reported to police just before 10:00 p.m. by a friend of the woman.
The woman’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The Ochre River and Dauphin Fire Departments as well as the Parkland Ambulance Service and Dauphin Collision Reconstruction Unit are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
