On May 21, 2013, just before 8am, Little Grand Rapids RCMP received a call of a disturbance at Pauingassi FN. Members attended the residence where a deceased male was located outside.
A homicide investigation ensued and two young persons have been arrested. No charges have been laid at this point. An autopsy is scheduled in Winnipeg.
Police believe that the young persons arrested and the deceased knew each other. All are residents of Pauingassi First Nation.
The RCMP Little Grand Rapids along with assistance from RCMP Major Crime Services, the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and additional resources from the RCMP East District continue to investigate.
