On May 25, 2013 just after midnight, Stonewall RCMP were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Red Sun Gas Bar in the RM of Rosser.
On arrival, police were advised that two males had entered the premises brandishing a firearm and demanding cash. Both had their faces covered. The two suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets. They were seen leaving the location in a grey SUV.
Neighbouring RCMP detachments as well as Winnipeg Police Service were notified, and the vehicle was located a short time later by Winnipeg Police Service members in the Maples area. One male was arrested while police are seeking a second suspect.
23-year-old Ian Scott McKinney of Winnipeg is facing numerous charges related to this incident. McKinney was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court.
RCMP investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the second suspect.
