On June 1, 2013, just after 5:30am, Selkirk RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle rollover collision on River Road near Highway 9.
Initial investigation indicates that a 2005 Buick Century was traveling west on River Road at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, rolling over at least once, striking a utility pole.
RCMP report that there were two occupants in the vehicle, both female. They were pronounced deceased at the scene and their identities are yet to be confirmed.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
