On June 6, 2013, shortly after 11:30am, Headingley RCMP and local EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Provincial Road 424, about 1 mile north of the community of Springstein.
RCMP and EMS arrived on scene and found a pick-up truck on its side and located the driver ejected from the vehicle. The driver, a 28-year-old man from County Cork, Ireland, was conveyed to hospital in Winnipeg. Police say that he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
RCMP report that on June 6 at about 3pm, the driver succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation continues with the assistance of an RCMP Traffic Analyst. It appears, the vehicle was travelling north on PR 424 when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the driver lost control and rolled. Alcohol is not considered a contributing factor in this collision. The seatbelt was not in use at the time of the crash.
