On June 11, 2013, just after 9am, Lac du Bonnet RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a plane crash that occurred about 10 km east of Lac du Bonnet.

Initial reports indicate that a single engine float plane had taken off in the Lac du Bonnet area and had crashed in a field shortly after takeoff.
Police say that there were two adult males onboard the aircraft, both were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and police continue to investigate.
