A Quebec mad has died after a large tree fell onto his tent during an intense storm at Falcon Beach this past night.
On June 26, 2013, just before 2am, Falcon Beach RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the campground at Falcon Beach.
On arrival, emergency personnel discovered that a large tree had fallen on a tent during a period of heavy rain and wind. There were two people in the tent at the time.
RCMP report that a 45-year-old man from Quebec was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His name will not be released. A 44-year-old woman, also from Quebec, was treated for minor injures. There were no other injuries reported or persons involved.
Police say that the weather was reported to be severe in the immediate area, and a number of trees were reported to have been blown down.
