On July 9, 2013, at about 9:30 pm, Powerview RCMP were dispatched to a report of a woman walking on the roadway of the Powerview-Pine Falls dam on Highway 304.
On arrival police discovered a distraught 59-year-old woman had climbed over the railing and was on the outside ledge of the bridge. Police say that the water was flowing extremely fast and a fall into the river would likely have been fatal.
RCMP members were able to reach over the railing and take hold of the woman, and with the help of two motorists who stopped to offer assistance, were able to pull her back over the railing to safety without injury.
