On July 12, 2013, at about 3pm, Brandon RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal collision involving a van and a motorcycle on the Trans-Canada Highway at the intersection of Highway 270.
Initial police investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling west on the Trans-Canada Highway when it collided with a van that was southbound on Highway 270.
RCMP report that there were two riders on the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man from the Selkirk area, and a 25-year-old woman from Winnipeg. Both riders were transported to hospital and both have been pronounced deceased.
The driver of the van, an adult male from Brandon, was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
