July 24 through 28 this year marked the dates for the Thresherman’s Reunion in Austin, Manitoba. Portage la Prairie RCMP worked with event organizers to ensure the public enjoyed their time while staying safe and following the law during the event.

There were no major policing concerns during the event however the following charges were laid:

  • two impaired driving charges
  • one charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • three 24 hour alcohol related driving suspensions
  • one open liquor charge
  • three charges for speeding
  • four driving without driver’s license
  • three driving without driver’s liability insurance
  • four warnings under the Highway Traffic Act
  • one drug trafficking charge

Education in safe driving practices is key to promoting safety on our road ways. Central Plains RCMP remind motorists to be vigilant of their own driving habits to do their part in keeping our roads safe.
