On August 9, 2013, shortly before 11am, Carman area RCMP along with Fire and EMS responded to a report of a five vehicle collision at the junction of Highways 3 and 23.
RCMP arrived on scene and have determined that the driver of a southbound pick-up truck, identified as a 27-year-old woman from Winnipeg, was hauling a flatbed trailer with a small tractor on it. While attempting to come to a complete stop at the construction site on Highway 3, she rear-ended a vehicle stopped in traffic at the site. The vehicle shot forward, a chain reaction ensued and another three vehicles became involved in the collision.
Police say that although two occupants of the vehicles involved were taken to hospital to be examined, no serious injuries were reported.
RCMP report that driver inexperience is considered a factor in this incident.
