On August 17, 2013, shortly before midnight, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP were dispatched to a home invasion in the town of Ile des Chenes.
Police have learned that an unknown male entered an unsecured residence through the garage door. The suspect then made his way up the stairs to the master bedroom where a 27-year-old lone female occupant was sleeping. The male climbed onto the bed. A struggle ensued between the female and the suspect. Within a short time, the male left the residence.
Police say that there were three children in the residence at the time of the incident.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the RCMP “D” Division Major Crime Services. No arrests have been made in this incident as of yet and a description of the suspect is not available.
RCMP would like to remind the public to secure their residences at all times.
