Central Plains RCMP have received a number of reports of individuals receiving letters in the mail advising them that they had the potential to inherit a large sum of cash. The letter encourages the recipient to contact the sender via e-mail or phone to get further information.
Police are warning residents to be aware of this potential scam and to keep their personal information protected. Residents should remember to refrain from providing credit card, banking or any other personal information over the phone or via e-mail.
