On September 6, 2013, at 5:40pm, Spruce Plains Area RCMP along with Fire and EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle collision about two kilometres east of Gladstone on Highway 16.
Police say that a westbound SUV with three occupants collided with an oncoming car on Highway 16.
RCMP report that the 35-year-old Edmonton male driver and a 23-year-old male passenger of the SUV were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 34-year-old female passenger, of Edmonton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The eastbound car, driven by a 22-year-old Neepawa male, was also transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues with the assistance of an RCMP Traffic Analyst and the RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team. Alcohol is not considered a contributing factor and early indications are the 35-year-old Edmonton male driver was driving in the oncoming lane when the collision occurred.
