Steinbach RCMP are asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect who is possibly involved in a theft incident which occurred recently in La Broquerie, MB.
On September 18, 2013, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a break-in and theft to a commercial truck used for railway maintenance. The vehicle had been parked on the west side of La Broquerie overnight.
Police investigation has revealed that the culprit pried open the rear door of the Ford F550 and stole some electronics, damaging several other pieces of electronic equipment in the process. The culprit is also believed to have used a garbage can as a washroom, resulting in a disturbing discovery by the vehicle owner in the morning.
Caught on surveillance video, the suspect appears to be Caucasian with light coloured hair and a beard. The suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood, and dark pants. He is believed to be driving a dark coloured truck.
Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect male from the surveillance video. As a result of a tip received from the public, Steinbach RCMP have identified the male suspect involved in this incident. Further, he ended up turning himself in to RCMP on Tuesday, September 24, and has accepted responsibility for his actions. The matter is now considered to be resolved.
