On October 1, 2013, shortly after 1pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as area Fire and EMS were dispatched to a three vehicle collision on Highway 59 at the South Beach Casino intersection.
Police learned that a southbound pick-up collided with a car proceeding south on Highway 59. The car, in turn, collided with a van also heading south.
Police say that an elderly woman, the driver of the car, was transported to hospital in stable condition. An elderly male driver of the pick-up truck was also transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The two occupants of the van (man and woman) were not hurt.
Early investigation indicates that the southbound pick-up truck failed to stop at the red light.
RCMP continue to investigate and are not considering alcohol as a contributing factor in this collision.
