Just after 3pm on October 7, 2013, while investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence, Portage la Prairie RCMP seized a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.
Police on patrol observed a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on Sissons Drive in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The vehicle was stopped as it was believed the driver may be impaired. Subsequent investigation revealed that the 2 occupants in the vehicle were in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
RCMP report that 31-year-old Sonny Flett of Brandon and 30-year-old Neil Malcolm of Winnipeg have been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. Both have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on December 2, 2013.
