A traffic stop on 1st Avenue N.E., Dauphin, Manitoba this past weekend resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old Dauphin man.

Officers from the Dauphin RCMP Detachment stopped the vehicle around 9:15pm on October 29, 2013, after receiving a report that the driver may be impaired.

Police say that the driver failed a roadside screening device test and was then taken to the Dauphin detachment where breath tests showed his blood alcohol concentration to be almost 2 times the legal limit.

RCMP report that Leslie Joseph Sutherland has been charged with impaired driving and driving over .08. Sutherland is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Dauphin on November 26, 2013.
